review of 1md.be - 1 million dollars creative bereau website
I think this is great because it negates the need to have text describing what they do or what they are about. They just let their work to the talking and it does it quite well. Many of the banners are quite eye catching and highly recognizable clients. Users may then click any of the banners to slickly have a drop down paragraph describe what the work is about and provide a link to a different website which hosts a video that gets into detail about the work. It all works so seamlessly and makes navigating 1md's work a breeze.
The website however does have an "about" page- which is just as simple and has a fantastic description of who the Millionaires are. Check it out -
The Millionaires
We are sexy, rich and almost famous. We are looking for creative challenges a lot of money. We have complementary skills (blogger, motion design, creative concepts and many more), that make us unique and wonderful. If you don't believe it, just challenge us with impossible projects!
On the website Create challenges is scratched out and a lot of money is red and underlined. I love this honest carefree confident attitude that displays 1md humor and style.
As for the work itself; it was all slick and very well art directed with a clean but yet grungy feel to a lot of their projects. Their projects range from games to 3D animation with a lot of flash websites in between. They have a good sense of humor with much of their work and it all looks great.
1md.be also has a blog on their website which has links to music they like, movies work they have done and all round funny writings and rantings.
Ladies and gentleman check out this website - I was inspired and will definitely look at some of their creative techniques when working on web projects of my own.

My thoughts on ff0000.com (Red Interactive Agency)
The website itself was interactive and referred to itself as a universe. Users can enable live chat and see other users ghosts running around as they browse content. It is fresh and innovative and definitely helps sell Red Interactive. Their design work consisted of interactive creative for products and clients ranging from video games to CNN. Many campaigns of which I would have loved to work on.
I loved their work and their website and aspire to join a team that has such wicked clients and great philosophies.

Hey Teacher Leave them kids alone.
Overall I have had a pretty positive experience at Mohawk College, I have learned a lot about myself and what I want out of life. I could have done without many of the classes and feel the advertising program needs to re-work the taught material but being in a creative program has inspired me.
I wish we had more classes that were tailored to creative advertising instead of a lot of pointless material but that's the way it went. I'm curious to see if other schools delve into flash, final cut and dreamweaver more than the 2 weeks we spent on them. I feel advertising is moving mostly online and we are ill prepared for this movement.
I still learned a lot and I'm excited to move on in life although I am not quite sure what's next. Whether I go back to school or start my career time will tell but I have the determination and motivation to do well, and some new friends to help me along the way.

Wizards Fire (Fie-aaaa)
On the front lines hands all armed with steel
When the men come before me, I make them all kneel
Life’s become forfeit right before my eyes
When I send my fire forth, I hear nothing but their cries
Wizards Fie-aaaaa
Wizards Fie-aaaaa
Wizards Fie-aaaaa sweeps across the battlefield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa burning every single shield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the end of you
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the death of you
We cut through their defences and approach the oppressors tent
His reign of tyranny is over, his time on earth is spent
Two guards await outside their steel facing north
fuelled by determination and anger I cast my fire forth
Wizards Fie-aaaaa sweeps across the battlefield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa burning every single shield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the end of you
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the death of you
In the dark, in the dark, in the dark of the night
Wizards fire, wizards fire will bring forth the light
In the dark, in the dark, in the dark of the night
We will fight we will fight we will fight for what’s right
In the dark, in the dark, in the dark of the night
He will burn he will burn, we will end this fight
Wizards Fie-aaaaa sweeps across the battlefield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa burning every single shield
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the end of you
Wizards Fie-aaaaa it will be the death of you
Wizards Fie-aaaaa
Wizards Fie-aaaaa
Captains Log
To give you an idea what it would sound like. The song has over the top high pitched vocals with speed power metal guitar. It started as a joke but was quite fun to write and I want to see it through now. It was Inspired from some books I read.

Shawn

Boring advertising.
"hey steve did you see that telus ad where the monkey rides the giraffe through space? That shit was crazy" I call this the WTF effect.
Me and my buddy Sean decided to attempt this with our new Kernel campaign. Here is the first ad we have completed. Kernels Dill Pickle Ad
Sorry for the plug but this way you can understand what I'm talking about.
Cheers,
Shawn
